Early regular decision acceptance?

I got my acceptance letter from Wesleyan today, three weeks before the expected day. Did anyone else get it? It says "You are among the first group of students to be notified of your regular decision acceptance because we feel that you have so much to add and contribute to the Wesleyan community..."

looks like Wesleyan would really love to have you attend! congrats!

yeah, congratulations! did you interview?

Holy crap I wish I hadn’t read this. Now I am nervous!

Congrats though! Is Wes your first choice?

BTW, I know this is annoying but would you/anyone else who got in mind sharing your stats?

Congrats!! I’m waiting for my reponse as well. I’m sooooo nervous.

Congrats! I’m surprised that Wes released decisions this early. I’m really nervous now, haha.

=D

Just to clarify to all of those waiting for decisions… what maybachman received was an “early write”… where colleges send early acceptances to certain candidates to try to get a leg up on other schools. Most of the acceptances will be sent out in 2 weeks, and all of the rest of the decisions will be sent out then, too. In other words, unless you get an early write acceptance, you won’t hear from Wes yet. No rejections or waitlistings are being sent right now… so don’t be nervous! (yet)

Thanks everyone! Actually, Wes is not my first choice, but I would strongly consider attending. I did not formally interview, but I visited campus and met with a few professors. My stats:

I recieved an early acceptance today as well.

Just got mine today! Best surprise EVER. :D

got mine today!!! first of a bunch, i hope. I would love to go to wesleyan!

i received one too! congrats everyone!

got mine too!!! so so so exciting

For those of you who got the early admit, would you mind saying where you’re from? Only if you feel comfortable. I’m just curious about the geographic diversity.

I’m from CA, so I don’t really provide geographic diversity…but I am from an underrepresented region of CA…and most likely, Wesleyan has never had an applicant from my school.

I just read this thread then checked my mail… Can’t believe I got one too!!!:D

lvr, I’m from nj. Not much diversity right there =D

I got this too! I’m from Pittsburgh PA- I wasn’t expecting early write. I actually applied to wesleyan as a sidethought- mostly because they did not require a supplement. However, since applying, I’ve looked as Wes alot more, and am seriously considering it now. It does help that I can consider it by itself before I hear about other schools like Williams, Brown, and Swarthmore.

I got one too! Wow, I didn’t realize that this was an early write - I’m honored. Yeah, Wesleyan didn’t have a supplement so I submitted my Common App anyway. I’m from Atlanta, Georgia, which I’m hoping helps a little with all this college business. SAT 2330 (800 R, 750 M, 780 W), Subject tests 800 US Hist, 780 Chem, 750 Spanish. 4.6 weighted, 4.0 unweighted, #1 in class, solid extracurriculars/leadership/recs. Hope that helps?

Did you receive the letter via email or USPS?
