Early regular decision acceptance?

I got my letter today as well! I was really shocked- there it was, sitting in my mailbox, the Big Envelope. I’m so excited, I really would like to attend. I’m just waiting for a few more schools- Vassar, Middlebury, etc.
I’m from Long Island. My SAT was a 2250 (800 CR, 650 M, 800 W), and I have a 800 US History, 730 Lit, and 740 World. I’m third in my class, and I go to moderately large uncompetitive public high school. I’m pretty stoked, I must say :)

Did you all interview? Did they have people in your area to interview?

To my surprise, I received one today as well, haha, it was exciting. I didn’t interview and I’m in Colorado.

Congrats moosquareds…did you do act or sats.

Got mine today!

I’m from New York.
2180 SAT
93-94 Average.

Got mine early =]

i think i got in cause i have thier average 31 ACT and im asian from norcal O_O cause my app wasnt that good. I used QB and thier 3 essays were due in like…September 30th…talk about unprepared essays.

Did you guys get notified by email as well?

No, just regular mailbox-type mail. I didn’t interview or anything; I’ve never even visited the campus. Almost all colleges do interviews in Atlanta because it’s such a large metro area but either Wesleyan didn’t or you had to request one and I didn’t.
I imagine that these early decisions are more to try to boost their numbers for rankings and to make their school look good.

i got the letter today too! I am so excited. I don’t have a first choice, and I’m still waiting for 9 more schools but Wes is definitely up there for me.
I have never visited but I plan to, i love the idea of their atmosphere.

You guys all have amazing stats, I don’t know if i can compare.

I’m just waiting to hear from Middlebury and Swarthmore to make a decision.

oh and im a female going to major in italian

I got mine a couple days ago. Pretty excited to say the least like everyone else.
I’m from Texas
Half Azn/White
2250/2400 1550/1600 SAT
16/650 in a fairly competitive high school (probably 8 ivies in my class)
Good ECs but not hook worthy

Oh, I never gave my stats, haha.

Female Hispanic/Caucasian
Long Island, NY
ACT: 31
Rank: My school doesn’t rank, but I’m at least in the top 10%
Essay: I thought it was pretty strong. It was the pretty much the standard Look-How-I-Found-Myself and rose above adversity, yadda yadda, but I had a pretty cool Disney motif in it.
Recs: I’m guessing they were good? Haha, I didn’t get to read any of them (sent 4).
ECs: About 6 leadership roles, including President of the class and my being a youth representative for a nationwide organization for children with one of more parents in the LGBTQ community. I also devoted my entire summer last year to research in a lab where I found a new cure for MRSA; I sent in a copy of my paper and abstract. I’m guessing something in my ECs served as my hook?

Congrats to everyone else who got an early write, and best of luck to those who are still waiting! :)

“You guys all have amazing stats, I don’t know if i can compare.
act 33
gpa uw 3.89, w 4.6”

lol, seriously? anyways…

congrats, guys  hopefully i’ll get a positive response, as well, in a couple of weeks : P

Well i didn’t get an early write, I got in EDII, but here are my stats:

Female, from the Dominican Republic
Westchester, NY
SAT: 2050
Rank: Doesn’t rank, i think I’m top 25%, extremely competitive small class (already have 9 people into ivies early, others into Duke, MIT, BC, NYU and so on…)
Essay: Pretty good, same as Dramacratic
Recs: I sent 4, i think the best one was my Philosophy teacher who wrote about how my participation in Philo club inspired the curriculum for the new class
ECs: President of Gay/ Straight Alliance, President of a community service club, Art and Literature editor of staff for award winning magazine, was co-pres of Philosophy and Political Book clubs last year, assistant teacher at summer school for 4 yrs in a row, outdoors club (LOL), only female on Frisbee team (I actually wrote that on CommonApp)

I also ranked Wes for QuestBridge and didn’t get matched, so i applied for EDII and it worked out! Let’s just say they were mad generous with the aid haha

Got mine today! Congrats to everyone who got them  I live in FL

stats:
SATs CR:740 W:750 M:690
gpa:3.94 weighted:5.2
national merit finalist
