Early round over, now I need to make some choices

I was accepted to chicago, but deferred at MIT. I have my regular list ready, but I'm wondering if I should cut off some schools that I don't need to apply to now that i'm in at chicago.

I plan on majoring in economics, but will also pursue courses in math and poli sci.

So, would it be logical to take off Northwestern, Caltech, and/or Georgetown off of my list? Obviously Caltech is superior to Uchicago in some aspects, but for economics/poli sci is Uchicago better? Also, would there be any reason to apply to Northwestern or Georgetown? Do either of these schools have anything that can compare with Uchicago in business or poli sci?

Also, some background on the CIT, Northwestern, and Gtown would be helpful as well. Thanks

You haven't said anything about money. I wouldn't cut anything off of your list unless you are sure you can afford Chicago. Some other school only slightly lower on your list may end up offering you a much sweeter financial package.

ye that's what I was considering in the back of my mind. Perhaps I should just apply to these schools and compare them afterwards?

Base on your major and interest, I think Chicago is a great fit. I would cut out Northwestern, Georgetown. CalTech gives scholarship for stellar students.

UChicago is at the top with economics. However, I wouldn't cut out the other schools unless you are sure that UChicago fits you better than them. Also, comparing financial aids is also very important so maybe only cut out the schools that you're sure you would not prefer over U of C no matter what.

Congrats on getting in by the way :)
