If any current students with advice could respond to this I'd be very appreciative:

What is the best way to get a head start with classes, joining programs (e.g. mind, brain, behavior), and joining extra curriculars. The freshman summer program obviously would be helpful for this, but I most likely will be unable to attend. So, in lieu of that 6 week program, what can I do to register early for classes, sign up for a U-pass or WeCar, and other things. I'm just so excited to get my life started over there, I can't help but do at least a few things ahead of time.

Thanks

Props for the initiative!

If you’re going into Arts & Sciences, you can come to one of the four ArtSci summer weekends, any of which will let you register early for classes, meet people, and otherwise get into the swing of things. I think (not really sure on this) that you should be able to register for a U-Pass any time after you’ve got a WustlKey, using parking.wustl.edu … I probably wouldn’t worry about WeCar until you get to campus though

You can email student groups if you’d like to get info on them early, but once you get to campus there will be a huge “Activity Fair” in the first week or so, and just about every student group will be there with handouts and signup sheets for their mailing lists… Most people don’t really commit to anything until then, with the exception of StudLife writers and student government people maybe. Here’s a list of (presumably) all of the student groups on campus, with contact info, if you’d like it. IMO, most of them won’t have their real “this is what we’re all about” propaganda lined up until August. :)

Can you tell me a little about the Focus Program? Do you have to be in the Arts & Sciences in order to participate, or can anyone do it? and how do you sign up?
