Early versus Regular Decisions

This is surely a popular question, but there is no current thread for this topic, so please, those with knowledge, contribute!

 • chances of somebody applying early v. regular (this may not be 100% accurate, but any info is helpful)
 • when are those applying likely to hear back?
 • are the processes the same?

THANK YOU.

The acceptance rate of those who applied early decision last year was about 40-45%. The acceptance rate for regular decision was about 20-22%. (I don’t remember the exact figures.)

If your application is complete, around December 15.

Go and read about the school and the processes. This is on Barnard’s website and on College Board.

My D has a learning disability which greatly affected her grades her freshman year Her grades significantly improved her junior year .Her standardized tests are higher than Barnard’s average and she is extremely talented vocally. She is a very competitive , private school. What do you think her chances are of getting in to Barnard? She has a lot of extra-curriculars and a lot of community service.
Thank you !
