1) should I pay the $8 to view them now? or wait for them to come in the mail?

2) i'm nervous to check...I feel I didn't do too well (I'm not a good test taker and I always get the same feeling...same feeling after SAT's)

3) Will my scores get to RD schools in time if I wait for the scores to come in the mail? Do I have to early view in order to send them? How does it work?

no, it's really a waste of money unless you KNOW you did well and won't mind spending $8 to confirm it

...not much of a question here, but I can promise you that that happens to most people; some can't handle it and MUST check their scores even if they know they're going to be lower than usual

I think you can wait till you get your scores in the mail for your RD schools; if you're confident that your scores are higher, write on your apps that you took the test in dec and that you'll submit the scores as soon as they become available; if you're not sure you're gonna get your best score through your december test, then suck it up and do the early viewing period

i checked mine. It was a lot less then what I expected. You probably did fine on it. Don't be scared to check unless you don't want to pay the 8 bucks.

I wouldn't mind paying $8 to be happier...it's just the concept of paying $8 to possibly be sadder! I wish ACT would just do it like SAT and just make them all available right from the start; this "pay $8" thing is just evil! I'm happy with my score right now (30 C, 12 W), but I really wanted something higher on the composite....how'd you do?

I got a 27. I was hoping for a 31. I agree with you for the paying 8 bucks idea. It is terrible. They are coming up with new ways of making easy money off of desperate people. Good job on the 30 and especially on the 12.

thanks; i just hit post #200! Anyway, don't worry about your score; I saw on another thread that you're a junior; on the December test when I was a junior, I got a 26; on the next test, I got a 25...don't get discouraged if you think you have a low score...I advise you to take the June test...for some reason, I always find it the easiest (that's when I got my scores). Also, lazystudentsway, if you've ever heard of them...use their SAT...that's right...SAT guide for the writing section; that's how I got my 12....you have plenty of time to up your score; I got my 30 w/minimal practice and prep...good luck!

ok, thanks a lot. Yeah, I started to feel bad about the 27, and my dad encouraged me to keep practicing to see an improvement. Hopefully, I will get above a 30 someday. I'm counting on the June test as you said. Thanks for the help.

it's like 8AM in CA! What in the world are you doing up?!?! JK...don't worry too much about it; remember, stats aren't everything....anyway, sorry to cut this short, but i got to go to a teachers house to get some rec letters! Bye for now!

You're lucky you are a junior! You have a lot of time to improve...this was my only chance to get a score better than my SAT score which is bad. I don't feel like calling my dad for his credit card # :-. I'll check it later. I'm guessing I got a 29...which is not what I went in shooting for :(. My goal was a 31-32...I just feel like I bombed the science and reading because of time...

Grr I'm scared to check...this always happens with the SAT's! For the SAT's I would hate checking scores because they never came back w/ good results :(. I'm afraid this is the same with the ACT :(.

I really want to check my scores, but I won't allow myself to pay $8 when I already tested as a standbye. I'll probably end up scoring lower anyways...
