Did any early writes already get their aid packages? Were they what you expected in terms of generousity or lower/higher?

I read that the financial aid packages won’t be sent out until March 12th. (It’s possible that this date only applies to me and others in my situation; they asked for proof of citizenship when I received my decision.)

Well, I haven’t gotten anything and I was an early write.

Ok thanks guys! Its just that the 12th is a Sunday and I don’t think they work weekends lol… Hopefully it will come this week cuz I really want to know if I’ll be able to go now that I passed the first hurdle (getting in)

Just received my financial aid letter today! (It’s not bad, but not super generous, either.)

Oh…now I’m nervous! Was your EFC lower or higher than what FAFSA predicted??

I got my letter today-- no aid, unfortunately. On the one hand, neither of my older brother received aid when they went to college, so I guess it wasn’t much of a surprise. On the other hand, my family was hoping for some considering that we already put 2 kids through college and both of my brothers are currently still studying (business school and med school).

Sigh… how effective do you think an appeal would be, emphasizing the burden of my brothers’ education costs? And would the fact that I’m an early write work in my favor?

My D got an early write on Friday and we received financial aid today. I think it is very generous. The EFC is lower than FAFSA estimated. I’m more than thrilled. I didn’t think we would get any financial aid. They also covered the book cost completely. Very happy indeed.

Was the financial aid package mailed?

Yup, in a little (normal) envelope.

i’m glad it worked out well for you! Were loans included in the fin aid package as well?

Yes, there were some loans, but not much compared to the grants.
FAFSA estimated 0 financial aid for my family…I guess I’m one of the luckier ones?

My letter said that I’d be getting the financial aid information around March 15. Then again, I live in Florida… But my EFC according to FAFSA is $0, so I’m just hoping for the best!
