Early writes/Likely letters

Does Amherst send these? And if so, when?

I’ve also been searching around for this. They have sent them in the past. The latest thread I see of this is in 2009. However, Williams explicitly states on their website that they (Williams) do send out early writes. So, to answer your question, I would assume they still do, but they don’t really publicize it. I could be wrong, however.

They send them out every year, as long as I have been on this site - 6 years. DD received one around March 1.

Sptch, would you be willing to post your DD’s stats? I’m just curious to see the stats of an early write admit.

SAT 1580 out of 1600, salutatorian A+ avg. (all A’s) from new, large suburban HS, diversity student based on location and finances. Lots of EC’s. State winner 2 years in Citizen Bee, numerous academic awards.

^By posting your stats, are you indicating you’ve already received an early write?

^^I think this poster was accepted years ago as an early write.

Amherst grad '09

Has anyone gotten one yet?

^If only…

I got one today! I’m so happy :)

Letter, email or call? Thanks.

It was a letter. I didn’t get an email or a call, but in the letter it says I should expect a call soon from a faculty member who can speak about my academic interests. Also, nothing has changed with my online account.

^Which state are you from?

Also, congratulations!

I am from Connecticut, so I guess that it makes sense for me geographically to have gotten one perhaps earlier than others. It is dated the 7th.

All Early Writes receive a phone call from a faculty member - my D’s was from Dr. Marx, who also taught.

got one today!! look forward to meeting all you :)

Congrats to you corno17! Thanks for sharing the news with all of us.

congrats guys! i’m jealous :D

Did anyone else receive one yet…?
