Early Writes & Regular Decision

I got an early write today!!! If anyone was wondering when RD decisions start to come out, they’re coming (I live in CT…)!!! Hang in there and good luck everyone!!!

Big envelope in my hand. Maybe D got one too. Going to pick up D at school.

Yes, it was an early write. D is very excited!

I live in MA. If I were to get one, should it have come today? (It didn’t…) Or would it be here tomorrow?

We live in MA. About 20 minutes north of Boston. Postmark date on D’s envelope was Friday the 13th.

i got one today, too! with a handwritten note and everything! and btw i live in new york city.

Me too! Wooh! Way up in Northern Maine.

My D got one today. We are in South Florida. The financial aid package was non-existent. Only $5500 loan & work study. Unless they reconsider there is no way we can swing that. I’m disappointed. Our EFC was $25K, that’s a big gap.

The personal note was a nice addition to the acceptance. That was the first acceptance to bother doing so.

Tibet - It’s worth a call to FA and find out their flexibilty.

I will definetely be calling FA. We are waiting for the FA package from Vanderbilt also.

Woo! Early Write to Bowdoin–who else is going to the Bowdoin experience?

How many of these are usually sent out? I feel stupid… I didn’t get one :(

got one! :)

:( so how many of these were sent out? I feel so stupid.

don’t feel that way. these people are gods among the reg. applicant pool.

stats?

Just got mine on the West Coast! California!

I had a handwritten note from their interim dean of admissions saying how much he enjoyed my essay, really nice touch.

I just need to see if my family can pay for it. I only got about 5k in loans.

What’s early write?

DON’T!

To my understanding, at every school that does this, out of the upwards of a thousands of kids offered admission every year, only 100-200 get early notification due to a combination of reasons like: the early notice applicants were among the first to be read so decisions could be made earlier; if you discussed a specific subject which required an area of expertise (you talked about scientific research you did, etc.) the admissions people might need to confer with faculty experts, so they can’t early notify you, etc.

In effect, if you didn’t get one, it doesn’t mean you’re not special, it just means that the admissions people are human. Yeah, I and other earlies are pretty psyched, but April 1 is not that far away…

I got onetoo! But I’m a three sport recruit so it would be wierd if I didn’t.

Don’t stress if you didn’t get one, its no big deal!

sbarkowski - then two from MA so far

Duckey - I am sure that D will be attending one of the Bowdoin experience days. It just hard to tell which one.
