Early writes will probably start coming on Monday

Massachusetts. Hope lots more arrive tomorrow in farther-flung states.

Any stats for people who got EWs?

this suggests that there’s still hope for the rest of us.

I got mine today (I’m from Oregon). I was so surprised, as I did not think I even had a chance for admission. I seriously began tearing up when I opened! They also offered to pay my way to go to Preview Weekend! I cannot wait:) Good luck to everyone else!

Here are my stats.

Rank: Valedictorian, have been first all four years of high school
AP Classes: Our school offers 7, I have taken 5 of them (didn’t take art or physics as I am not an artist and we don’t really have a physics teacher).

I took APUSH as a junior (only AP offered that year) and received a 5. I am currently taking AP English Lit, AP Calc AB, AP Music Theory, AP Gov and Politics, Honors French, and Band.

Paid Work:

Got that magical purple folder today! Kinda shocked!

Appalachian White Male
4.0 GPA with 2 AP’s (Self Study for 3 other tests, though)
31 ACT
Good Essay
No huge list of EC’s
POOR (XD)

Really surprised! I guess it’s not the stats, but the story? Good luck to all who are waiting until April and congrats to fellow likely letters!

yaaay! i also got the “magical purple folder” today! (i’m from long island)

Congrats to everyone who received an acceptance today!!!

NOTHING AGAIN :(

Is there still hope it could come tomorrow?

I haven’t gotten anything but I got into WashU today so I’m pretty psyched :). I think I might pick WashU anyway because I’m not really into the LAC atmosphere (although I visited and thought the campus was gorgeous so I’m sure I’d love it there if I got accepted).

Congrats to all of you accepted!

Is it possible that they’re sending them out in waves?

I received an early write today!

My stats are here from the Stanford REA thread. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/11755533-post116.html

I got one in the mail today! I’m in Arizona.
:)

Are any of the Early Writes not URM or Questbridge?

DD got a large, flat envelope from Williams today. This is the 4th LL or acceptance that she has received this week and of course, she’s not here (again).

Is there any FA info in there? That is what we are curious about. Our EFC=26k!

I am so grateful that all of you tell me what’s in there while I wait for her to get home.

Congratulations to all of you got in this week. For everyone else, remember many many more purple folders will be going out in the next 2 weeks.

Inside: Folder that says “Likelihood this big purple folder means what you think it does: 100%”, an acceptance letter and invite to Previews to visit the school, a Williams window decal, a list of Department and Program chairs, a list of student organizations, a campus map, a couple booklets about Williams and their dorms, a paper about Fellowships at Williams, another paper about the Tutorial program at Williams, and an envelope to either send in your deposit or decline their offer of acceptance.

Thanks kkamll - she came home and opened it, very exciting stuff.

BTW - you did a great job describing it.

I thought that the letter was the most detailed, personlized one that she has received so far. It mentioned things from her app, her essay, & had a handwritten note on it, very nice touch.

Did yours say that FA would be mailed out to you on 3/10?

If so, we are hoping it arrives early next week. That is the piece that we need to see and really consider. Williams in not cheap. grrr…

Congratulations again!

2011VAMom- mine did say that FA would be mailed out on 3/10. I live in-state and got my acceptance a little before most people it seems so I’m really hoping it will show up tomorrow or if not, early next week. I too am anxious to see the financial aid. Congrats again to your daughter!

Got one in the mail yesterday, was pretty excited about it! Must have taken a while to write a personal note at the bottom for every one of those letters.

Anyone know how many early writes get sent out?

I receieved an early write on Thursday. Even though I read the front of the folder, I was still freaking out; it felt so unreal. I’m anxious now to see my financial aid package!
