Early Writes

I want one! :(

Whoa I got one of this! and I’m stats are only subpar. 2150 SAT

They’re even going to pay for my airfare from Hawaii to MA for the Previews Program! :O

Same for me banmaisen!

I’m from Orlando

Congrats, you guys. Do you have any hooks? First gen? URM? Anything?

To fellow early writes: does your online account say anything? Mine doesn’t.

Congragulations!!! hope the rest of us get in

I just got one in the mail today and am an intended science major who has done a little lab research. I really did like the little personal note at the bottom, though I could not understand the handwriting.

I got one today!!! I’m from South Florida, and I totally did not expect one of these, I didn’t even know they gave them out.

I’m a minority student, and my SATs weren’t THAT high: 2160. But I did have a lot of SAT IIs, and they were pretty high (Spanish 800, Italian 730, French w/Listening 720, Literature 750).

As my major, I put political science as my first one, but I also put pre-med as my third one…

Is the handwritten part the same for everyone??

Anyway, I’m super excited!!

got one too! I"m an international applicant living in the US. I love how the director writes personal notes to each applicant. Mine says, “It would be great to see you in action in our science labs. Hope you choose Williams!”

Does anyone know what percentage of admits or applicants receive early admission?

I live in Northern Europe and got one today. I didnt expect at all since I sort of messed up the sat’s. But Im so so so happy! :)

is it in a big envelope or a small one?

It’s a big envelope. Kinda like those annoying brochure envelopes

Big envelope–there’s a purple folder inside.

In response to an earlier query, I got one and I’m a total humanities girl, so for those non-math/sci people out there, don’t lose hope. Congrats to everyone else!

The folder was the best part!. My little note read, “Your personal statement was absolutely poetic. Well done!”. I was so excited when my dad showed it to me. Anyone attending Previews?

You will find that this personal touch is what sets Williams apart. This is a reason they have one of the most loyal alumni networks in the country.

I got my letter on Wednesday!! Did any of you go to WOW? I went, so I was expecting an acceptance (all the students there basically said to), but not this early! Does anyone know if they are having another visit weekend in April or anything?

Congragulations to everyone who got in.wonder if they send early writes to africa

@AfrikaanDreamer: Congratulations on your early-write. My D is a student and absolutely loves it! However, it would be wrong to assume that WOW attendees could more-or-less expect to be admitted. I can think of one applicant in particular last year who attended WOW, had regular contact with someone from admissions (that contact never implied the person would be admitted, but was very good about answering questions promptly), and felt pretty sure of getting in. The person was sadly disappointed when not admitted. I believe the person may also have been a Questbridge kid. Moral of the story: there are no guarantees.

On a side note: it would be interesting to find out how many WOW attendees are admitted from year to year.

i got in early write or admission lol too

it was awesome seeing the folder: “likelihood this big purple folder means what you think it does: 100%”
<3 Williams is awesome

i hope you all get the purple folder at some point!
