so i've been reading around the site and alot of times, people say that you have a pretty good chance at ED, but its a reach for RD..

does that mean that ifyou apply ED for most schools, you have a better chance of getting accepted?

Colleges generally will not confirm that you have a better chance of being admitted if you apply ED rather than RA. However, at essentially every college that has ED, the admission rate for ED is higher and very often significantly higher (like double or higher) than the admission rate for RA. So draw your own conclusion.

HRM okay thanks :D

The normally higher accept rate of EA/ED students is a reflection of several factors:

1) the overall quality is MUCH higher than the RD pool.
2) legacies, recruited athletes and other recruited people tend to do EA/ED more
3) some schools hoping to "grab" the best students rather than face losing them to RD at other schools, will really court EA/ED applicants. An early admit is one aspect of this courting.

Causation and correlation needs to be examined here. EA/ED applicants get admitted higher -- doesn't mean the standards are lower for them.

Use your EA/ED at your first choice school, if offered -- that's the best strategy.

Are there any stats to confirm this?
