Earthquake

Our 1st quake at Stanford! Not a wimpy 2.5 mag either. :P

An earthquake of preliminary magnitude 5.6 struck the Bay Area at approximately 8:04 p.m. on Tuesday evening, centered near the Alum Rock neighborhood of San Jose. As of 8:40 p.m., no damage or injuries were reported on the Stanford campus. The university will be open for all scheduled classes, activities and business on Wednesday.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Pfft. In Tokyo, we used to continue typing through anything less than a 6.0.

Come back when you have a real quake. :p

yeah, that was the first earthquake i've experienced, right in the middle of my midterm

Were you in a CS midterm, pacers?

I'm from California, so I wasn't fazed. I was on the phone, and I said, "Hmm, my room is shaking.... All right, it's over." However, the non-Californians in my hall came out of their rooms and were like, "WHOA!!! Cool - an earthquake!" Some were also nervous. Ah, the cuteness of naivety.

yeah im a texan so i called EVERYBODY! it was so cool! we have plenty pf hurricanes but we dont have earthquakes :P

my midterm was in Kresge aud

I didn't even feel it! I was entering Hewlett at the time and I swear I have no recollection of any shaking! I must be the only person on campus who felt nothing! lol
