Are there stats posted somewhere on the admissions rates of the different colleges? Is it only competitive for business/engineering, for instance, and liberal arts is a walk-on? I’m looking ahead at the process for my daughter, who’s a junior this year, and is not an auto-admit.
The admissions are first to the university then to any open major (engineering requires an additional holistic review). So, no it is not ‘easier’ to get in as a Liberal Arts major. However, it is not as popular as a first choice major so there will be more review applicants that will have an opportunity to choose that major since majors fill first come first served until full and priority is given to automatic applicants in processing. The ‘stats’ mecca for tamu is called DARS, You can search on the tamu.edu website for all sorts of various stats.
