Easier Access Majors into college

How do I find out what Majors have an easier acceptance into college. For example an agriculture major would be easier to get into the college versus applying to Engineering. Also, how do I find out the GPA's need for the different majors in college. The acceptance information in Naviance only seems to be the GPA/ACT for the school and does not differentiate between the majors.

There are no lists I know of of major GPAs; that’s because schools don’t differentiate by major much. you’re right in thinking that engineering, physics, and math majors are usually harder to get into and/or require stronger resumés, but colleges know that only about 33-40 credits out of 120-128 will be completed in the major. A student needs strengths in critical thinking, writing, reading, and speech and so colleges expect certain scores of the applicant no matter what they say as hs seniors their intended major will be–something that’s likely to have changed by the time they’re college juniors. You don’t want to go to a school where you’re at the bottom of the applicant pool; the rigor of the school would be likely to stress you out.

This really depends on the university.

Some universities don’t admit by major. Some do, but even among those, how much more difficult it is to get in to engineering than agriculture (or even if agriculture is harder to get in to or not) would depend on the university.

BTW, I hope you understand that in terms of skills, earnings, and career paths, your major will usually have a bigger impact than the name of your school (outside the elites).
