does this exist? I've done all the prereqs for IB but my science gpa is pretty horrifying. And I feel like a complete failure, so can someone help me out? Thanks!

Since it’s probably too late to transfer into CNR, look into Public Health. I’m not certain that all Public Health classes count for your science GPA so you’ll have to check that if you want to apply for med/grad school.

Do you want to major in something biology related, or in something non-biology/science altogether?

There are various biology and related majors in the College of Natural Resources.

Non-biology/science majors may actually not be difficult to switch into. For example, linguistics has only one prerequisite to declare (Linguistics 100) and only nine or ten total courses required for the major. History requires four lower division courses to declare, and twelve total courses; since history courses do not have prerequisites on each other, you can take the four lower division prerequisites next semester, declare the major, and then have three more semesters to finish the other eight courses (assuming that you are now a second semester sophomore). Several other majors’ prerequisites can be completed next semester in time for you to declare.

Whether such other majors are actually easier than IB depends on what you actually like and are good at.

I want to major in something bio related. anything with BIO in the title basically lol

I’m pretty sure that CNR requires a 3.0 to declare… but I could be wrong. Public Health is also really competitive and for sure requires a 3.0 (though the PH advisor told me that they’re probably going to bump it up to a 3.2). Additionally, it has very different pre-reqs.

Honestly, if you’re not doing well in IB already , then maybe you should major in something entirely different. Or you could try utilizing campus resources to see why you might not be doing well in your courses. As an MCB major, I know the pre-req classes can be harsh, but maybe you just need to put more time into them?

Oh and one of my friends majored in something called like the History of Science & Technology but I think they cancelled it.

Why not just major in IB? It is a large department with many different kinds of biology courses, so you can just pick whichever ones are most interesting to you.

That could be done as a theme or concentration as a history or interdisciplinary studies major. E.g. select courses from:

Bioengineering 100
Computer Science 195, H195
Earth and Planetary Science C51
Engineering 125
History 30, 120AC, 138, 164A, 164B, 164C, 180, 181, 182, 183, 183A, C192
Interdisciplinary Studies 60, 100D, 100G
Math 160
Philosophy 128

Really? IF CNR require, 3.0 then nvm lol
