Easiest College to Get In?

I am not applying or anything, but just out of curiousity.

The one you're best suited for.

brilliant answer

you liberals and you're answers....i'd say agriculture one because it's technically part of the SUNY system.

All of the 2008 stats are listed on this thread... along with some interesting comments. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=32812&page=1 The 2009 stats have not been released yet by college, although the Applied Economics and Management major in Ag & Life Sciences did release their 2009 stats - the admit rate was 19% for AEM.

This was cut as pasted from the above mentioned thread

Undergraduate Acceptance Rates Per College
Agriculture & Life Sciences:----Men 26.97%; Women 30.13%; Total 28.17%.

Architecture, Art & Planning:---Men 20.50%; Women 23.80%; Total 22.32%

Arts & Sciences:-----------------Men 26.48%; Women 25.53%; Total 25.46%

Engineering:---------------------Men 33.40%; Women 54.79%; Total 38%

Hotel Administration:------------Men 30.19%; Women 23%; Total 25.83%

Human Ecology:-----------------Men 31.8%; Women 36.23%; Total 35.13%

Industrial & Labor Relations:---Men 27.43%; Women 38.75%;Total 32.17%

Total University:----------------Men 28.92%; Women 30.03%; Total 29.44%

Eastern University is extremely easy to get into. It's in Pennsylvania.

but the numbers are very deceiving, because engineering is exceptionally competitive. Those 38% are from an exceptionally elite group. art's and sciences 16% come from a tad less competitive bunch.

It also depends on your interests. Engineering is easier to get into with very math physicsy scores and ECs. Hotel is much easier if you work in the hospitality industry and want to do hotel.

Also, c/o 2009 acceptance rates had a significant drop across the board.

Engineering has the highest acceptance rate, and the highest SAT/GPA admissions statistics. That's why you can't judge 'easiest' so easily.

The easiest at Cornell is either CALS or human ecology.

^^^ according to the admissions statistics above, CALS is actually slightly more competitive than the university as a whole. :P

um...if you look at SAT scores, HE is more competitive than CALS, ILR for sure, and Hotel. CALS, ILR, and Hotel have the lowest SAT scores of the university.

SAT scores don't tell you how competitve or hard it is to get into a particular college. If you say engineering is the hardest, well a very good percentage of those kids couldn't get into the hotel school, so does that mean hotel school is the hardest, no. You could apply this to all of the colleges at Cornell. There is no hardest or easiest college for the university as a whole. The hardest one is the one you are least suited for, the easiest one is the one you like the best and are most suited for.
