Easiest courses in CMU -any department

Hi,

I am having a terrible gpa of 2.4,and I am planning to take easy courses to boost up my gpa.I am from the CS department.

Please let me know if there are any courses in any school within CMU where attendance and little effort would ensure an "A".

Thanks,
Newbee

Go for those small unit, “attendance based” classes. Putnam Seminar comes to mind. As long as you go to class and sign in, you get an A.

Thanks CC_0214 :).Just to confirm. Is this the one you are talking about.
[Department of Mathematical Sciences](<a href=“Undergraduate Programs - Mathematical Sciences - Mellon College of Science - Carnegie Mellon University”>Undergraduate Programs - Mathematical Sciences - Mellon College of Science - Carnegie Mellon University)
I will check it out.

H&SS student here, I got this. Intellectual Property Law is zero work and all A. The teacher’s are super chill and you don’t even have to actually go to class. Social Structures, Public Policy, and Ethics is another class like that. And on top of that it’s really fun because you just talk about weed and abortion and things like that the whole time with no work.

Brightdreams:Nice :D.I will explore the courses you just told.

I remember the course I took with Professor Day being really easy. I think it was something like History of Urban America or something like that. Every Friday was video day where we’d watch a video of some sort or another. Good class, but it definitely felt like there were way lower expectations than what I was used to from my engineering classes.

Really Racin? Easier than engineering I’m sure but I’ve taken a class with him and we actually had to memorize things for quizzes and write papers and had tests and stuff. And he’s really picky about how things are worded. I think newbeebee is looking for super easy classes with next to no work.

You are Brightdreams,Thats what I was looking for!

Haha, I guess that says something about what expectations the engineering curriculum sets up, then. ;)

Take 15-251, Great Theoretical Ideas in Computer Science!

^ I heard everyone loves that class! Very little work ;)

The professor of 21-805 Lambda Calculus believes that homework is a waste of time and assumes people learn all they need to just by attending his class. The only grades come from attendance and turning in a set of class notes at the end of the semester, which can be written collaboratively. 12 free units of A in an 800 level math class. It’s not offered very often though.

Thanks that gr8.Hope all the professor tought the homeweorks are a waste of time :D
