I haven't quite decided on my major, but must have a high GPA to keep all options open. Would really like to hear about some of the easier classes during freshman and sophomore years where it's not a rat-race to get an 'A'. Thanks!

there are none..you're out of luck buddy....ucla is a top notch school..no easy ways out like in high school

come one alexinorbit...of course it's a great school, but there's plenty of easy classes, even upper-division. And considering that so many classes are curved, you just have to be a little better than the average student, which isn't that hard if you're taking an intro class with 300 students.

Just use bruinwalk, plus go to the department's list of courses and look at the last couple quarters' course websites, a lot of times you can tell when a class isn't that hard.

Some of the film courses, Education 92F, etc.

sorry to say Alexinorbit. but UCLA has a number of easy classes. But don't take Israel for AA 10 he is confusing as anything.

take Ethno 120 A and B

and take WAC 100 A or B

EDU 92F is cool as well.

Film 120A is ridiculously easy.

physics 10 (if you've some hs background in physics)
life science 15 w/phelan (if you put in the time, you'll get an A)

How hard is Physics 10 with prior courses taken in physics? I read Bruin Walk and people were completing homeworks in 5 minutes. I assume exams are just as elementary.

homework is easy... first midterm is easy... second midterm, not so much. final, also not so much.
but if you study more than i did (i got cocky after the first midterm) and if you go to discussions and turn in all your hw, it's an easy A.
which i shoulda got and didn't sigh

...speaking of physics, has anyone taken physics 6A? how is it?

I had physics 1A which is pretty easy. I heard that 6A is easier.
