hardest to stay in? Is that true? My teacher was talking about her daughter today, who goes to Cornell, and she said that. She also said that when she was visiting the campus, the students were studying on a SATURDAY NIGHT? I understand that it is a prestigious university, but can't you have a little fun?

No offense, but you should be searching the forums for your answer. It has been discussed numerous times already and you’re making yourself seem a bit ignorant.

There’s no clear answer. Statistically, it may have a higher acceptance rate but it does not mean that getting in will be a breeze. Even if you are accepted, it’s what you make of it that determines how easy or hard it may be to stay in.

I promise you, there is much fun to be had here. Our party reputation is almost on par with Dartmouth’s, certainly better than all the others. Yes some people probably do some homework on Saturday night. Chances are, they either have no life, and you’ll find kids like that everywhere, or they were just getting some work done before they went out that night. I’d guess that your teacher wasn’t walking around later in the evening, as that’s when people actually start to get ready and go out.

And while it may be the easiest to get into numbers wise, it’s getting harder. The incoming class size went UP 100 students this year, and the admit percentage went DOWN to something like 19%. I’d say that’s definitely not easy to get into.

Is it easy enough to let me in???Chance plzzz

2310… whew. clearly (unless you like prepped for 2 years or something for the SAT), you are very intelligent, however, with that GPA you’d better be in the top 10% of your class if you want a good chance.

Whats so wrong with studying on a Saturday night? That doesn’t exactly mean its an impossible school. If you really care about your grades, no matter what school you are at, studying is not going to be put aside because of the day of the week. You can’t have fun every Saturday night of your life.

I think I can qualm your fears. I am still studying right now kind of… or at least I would probably be studying right now if I had more work to do. This is because there isnt really anything that goes on between the time after dinner, and 9ish pm, where people either A) get ready to get *faced B)pregame at someones house C) Get ready to do something else besides getting *faced. I actually find predrinking study sessions to be kind of a meditative pause before the parties, its kind of nice. Regardless, you still have a lot of fun. Most parties do not start officially until 10, and no one shows up until around 11.
