What do you guys think is the easiest Ivy to get into?

“Easy” isn’t really a word that is often associate with Ivy League undergraduate school admissions. But, relatively speaking, Cornell has the highest overall admit rate among the 8 Ivy League schools.

None of them are easy. If you’re talking admit rate, then Axelrod has it right. I wouldn’t confuse admit rate with easiness though.

Cornell is pretty easy. There’s nothing special about being an Ivy League school though. There are schools outside of the Ivy League that are better than Ivy League schools.

Cornell is relatively easy compared to the other ivies. Admissions there is about the same level of competitiveness for everyone as the top state schools (Cal, UCLA, UNCCH) are for OOS.

Oxymoron

10ch

This is like asking which Olympic sprinter is the “slowest” guy in the finals of the 100m dash. All those guys are incredibly fast, and all the Ivys are incredibly hard to get into.

ED cornell if you can afford it. Something like a 30% acceptance rate.

Oop sorry about my reply. I simply read the subject and replied, not noticing that you asked which is easiest to get into. But, yeah, Cornell is definitely the least selective of the ivies.

That reminds me of what long-time posters do on the engineering forum, when a newbie asks, “Which engineering is hardest/easiest/best paying, etc?” We all talk about our favorite flavor of ice cream. That’s about as logical as trying to answer the question.

The mere posting of the question tells me that this kid’s application will submarine in the pile once he/she decides to submit one (or eight).

Just because a college is Ivy League doesn’t make it prestigious (although, the Ivy League schools are all very good). Realize that the Ivy League is actually an athletic conference, similar to the Pac-12 or the Atlantic 10.

Also, none of the Ivy League schools are that “easy” to get into (unless you cured cancer or got 3 gold medals at IMO or something). If you really want objective data, you could look at the admissions data, but you should only apply to the ones that suit you best.

I would say Cornell is the most predictable.

Yes although I agree with everyone that none of the ivy leagues are easy there is certainly a difference in difficulty getting into harvard and cornell. So there is an “easiest” ivy.

Cornell is definitely the easiest to get into by the numbers.

It’s definitely not an easy school though…

“Contract” (with the State University of New York) Cornell especially Schools of Agriculture (exclusive of the Dyson business part) and Human Ecology. Endowed Cornell, particularly Arts & Science and Engineering, is as difficult as Penn and possibly more difficult.

Cornell is known as the easiest to get into but the hardest once you get there

Hm, cool. Just curious on what all your thoughts were…I’m not seriously considering about applying to an Ivy League school anyway.

Cornell ILR, Hum Ec, or Ag.

ILR especially is a joke.

CAS, AEM, and Engineering will be as hard as Penn CAS, Dartmouth, and Brown, though.
