Easiest major to guarantee acceptance

I would highly recommend applying for ED. I got accepted by applying ED but I know people with the same stats as me that are now getting rejected. Plus, the stress is a lot less when you know where you are going to school in December.

There really isn’t any college that has particularly easy majors to get into… All are less than 50% and year by year the admissions into each college are getting harder…

Acceptance Rates:
Science & Math= 35%
Liberal Arts= 25%
Engineering= 42%
Business= 27%
Architecture= 25%
Agriculture= 45%

Also, does the 2nd major option even help you at all?

Yeah it doesnt seem like the alternative major is really applied.

I was actually really confused with all the rejections coming from people with killer stats. I have a low gpa myself, but I thought cal poly used a system where they take the top certain numbers of students.

No you compete against other applicants in your major. My theory is that Cal Poly only factors your GPA and SAT in the decision process. The EC’s are there just to give you the illusion that your not completely getting based as a number.

I mean like someone here had like a 4.4 gpa and like 2100 sat for ME. I don’t know how you can top it off.

Whatever, I hope nutrition isn’t that popular.

Not true, as confirmed by a Cal Poly admissions counselor during a campus tour. Number of EC and work hours are part of the admission equation, both general EC/job hours and those directly related to your stated major. How big a part of the equation is, of course, anyone’s guess.
