What are the easiest majors for transfer applicants to get accepted into in terms of acceptance rate and the total number of acceptances at USC? I know that the popular belief is that the Dornslife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences is the easiest school to get into but what about specific majors?
I concur that Dornsife is likely the School within USC that may be the easiest to gain admission through. As for majors, likely the more obscure or less well known ones are your safest bets. Sorry that I cannot be more specific. But… your academic record to date should also be considered. Picking something with no correlation to your own own coursework to date outside of GEs may be slightly hard to defend. Good luck…
And you may not be able to do an internal transfer to your preferred major if admitted.
Care to explain what you mean because I actually got advised by an admissions representative from USC that if you do not look like a sure-fire candidate to one of the more competitive majors then it is better to apply for one of the majors at Dornslife and then transfer internally later.
What you need to keep in mind is that there is no guarantee that you can internally transfer at will to any other major. Doing so within Dornsife is relatively easy, but if the major is within another School within USC, that school has to approve you. So it simply depends on your ultimate objectve as a major.
In other words, internal transfer is competitive. You can’t just call them after you are accepted and tell them to switch you to the more competitive major.
