easiest required science?

i know its not even spring yet but im just so excited about next fall that ive already started to look at classes lol

The science classes you can use to fulfill your requirement vary by major. That being said, I’ve heard nutrition and physical science classes are fairly simple. What is your major? Mine, math, doesn’t let us use either. :(

buisness! how do you know which can fufill your requirements

cocoaluna, my son, who’s a junior in the business school, took the chemistry for non-majors, and said it was really easy. He’s not a “science person” either, so it must be easy!! LOL

lol that sounds perfect im awful at science!! what was the class called? i thought the Ecology, Evolution, and Society class looked intersting and easy as well. anyone take that yet?

I’m taking Ecology, Evolution, and Society with Prof. Panero. The class isn’t hard, but it can be if you don’t keep up. I have an A in the class an if you take it with Panero, you will have a lot of opportunities for extra credit. I strongly recommend it, it’s a very interesting class.

yeah it seems like an intersting class thats connects science with society!!! is there alot of reading//papers/labs? and who are the other professors?

I don’t know who the other professors are, but Panero had the best reviews. He’s cuban so he has an accent, but he’s really quite helpful and if you can get past the accent, you will enjoy his class. The only readings are the chapter readings, and there are no papers. I’m taking the non-majors Ecology, Evolution & Society, so there is no lab. But Panero gives tons of suprise bonus quizzes that are applied to your total grade or a test. Sometimes you can earn up to 10 points! There’s also always a curve, and he gives you a test review that is numbered 1-50, and each number has the topic of the corresponding test question. He also gives a practice test online, and about 5 questions come directly off that.

wow this sounds easier then alot of my hs classes i think im def going to take that then! thanks!! which other science did you take?

“The Human Body” Bio for non science majors is really easy as well.

Whatever you do DON’T take Astronomy 301. Its designed for non-science majors but it is very tough and heavy on physics, chemistry, and science in general. Also, stay away from Dr. Edward Robinson if you take AST 301, his class is by far the toughest to pass!

aali4real thanks i was actually considering doing astonomy! lol

aali4real, it’s not ast 301 as a class that sucks, it’s the professor.

I’m taking it from don winget this semester and it’s the easiest class I’ve have at UT (and it’s really interesting too). Professor Winget realizes that it’s an intro class for non-science majors and has absolutely no math/physics/chemistry in his class. There are 4 exams, multiple choice and he’ll drop your lowest… and the test are pretty freaking easy. I recommend taking this class from him. He’s actually pretty funny and his classes are really interesting. Plus, he gives the easiest extra credit assignments ever (All I had to do was watch the meteor shower and draw what I saw, and bam, 2 points on my overall grade… and then I got another 2 points on my overall grade for just emailing the ta a mnemonic device for stellar classification that I made up - O B A F G K M: Oh Brother. Another Failing Grade Kills Me!). So easy.

hmm astrnomy sounds appelling now! lol so many choices

If you take astronomy, make sure it’s from don winget. Otherwise it will suck and be hard.

Choosing the right professor is key. It almost doesn’t matter what class you choose, as long as you have a good professor who will keep you engaged and whatnot. Definitely read the pickaprof (myedu) reviews and determine which professor has your ideal style of learning, whether it be lecture based, powerpoints, etc… The right/wrong prof can make or break your grade.

if you use pick a prof, is doesnt tell you the professor name? maybe its because i havnt paid and im doing that free trial ting

Yes it tells you the professor’s name, I don’t know if the free trial withholds it though. You should invest in it, its a great resource.

For those considering AST 301, go with Pred’s advice. Otherwise, don’t take the class, its a GPA killer!

Hey Pred I am in that Winget’s AST 301 class also, but do you know what is an A in that Winget’s AST 301 class right now?
