My school only offers you to take 1 AP before your junior year (AP World History as a sophomore) and I really want to get the AP national scholar to put on my application. Right now, I am taking 5 APs my junior year (Physics C: Mech and Electro, Calc BC, US, and Lang). What are some APs that are really easy self-studies so that I can reach my goal of 8. Also, what are the best prep books for these classes.

Right now, off the top of my head, here's my list:

Psych - I have the Barron's book
Both Governments
Environmental
Human Geography
Maybe Art History or Music Theory

I do not want to do Statistics because that is the only math class left for me to take in the sequencing of my school. Thanks for your help.

Do Psych or Human Geography, they’re both supposed to be really easy. I’m planning on doing both the governments next year as a junior as well!

Easy APs are Psych, Human Geo, Enviro, Stats, US Gov. I thought Calc AB was easy too, but it depends how you are at math. Any of those should be fine to self-study. I self-studied Psych this year and it was pretty easy.

iluv r u a senior or junior

I just graduated- I was a senior this past school year and now will be a freshman in college this fall.

Psychology is pretty easy. :D

Psych, Enviro, Human - 3 easies

Barron’s for psych, i got a text for 30 bucks for enviro, and 2 review prep books for human. I heard macroecon was also easy.

my school offers econ senior year so ill take that then… anyone else have any book suggestions?

Princeton review for Human Geography.

anyone else have easy self-study APs with recommended books…?

Human Geography is really easy to self study, but a lot of colleges won’t even give you credit for taking the test because they know about this, from what I’ve seen and read. I’m a rising sophomore and am self studying AP Psychology and AP World History. I use the 5 steps to a 5 books, and other texts and books.

“I really want to get the AP national scholar to put on my application”

You realize this won’t help you one whit, right?

Since you’re doing stuff with Calc BC and Physics C, is it safe to conclude that you are a strong math student?

If so, Computer Science may turn out to be quite easy. It’s really quite easy if you can think logically. Just playing around with a few things in Java occasionally is quite useful preparation.

US History hands down is the easiest one. Princeton Review worked for me.

Enviro isn’t that easy. Only 8.7% of test takers this year got 5s.

Barrons for Psychology.

@statlanta

So do you think Calculus BC is super-easy since 47% of test takers got a 5?

@OtherWindow
Its just that the smarter people take BC and they tend to mostly get 5’s

Calc BC is not a self study AP. You need prerequisite knowledge to do well. Enviro isn’t like that, along with the other self study APs (Human Geo, Pysch, Comp Gov, etc.)

Barron’s for Music Theory.
