Easiest Self-Study APs

@AKneeGrow
Exactly. The reverse is true for Environmental Science. Typically it has seniors that want an easy class. (compared to physics, biology, chemistry)

Thus, the score distribution is not an indication of difficulty.

So far we have:

Psychology - Barron’s
Human Geography - Princeton (are you sure?)
Governments -
Environmental -
I dont think I am going to be self-studying art or music… anything else

^5 Steps for Psych self-study is very good also. Please add that. I used that this year, plus Barron’s flashcards (not Barron’s book though, although I know it’s another good option as you mentioned)

I would not call AP Comparative Politics an easy AP test. The MC was easier than I expected going in, and FR wasn’t too bad, but the FR are kind of hit/miss depending on how they choose to score it. There is a lot of information to know, and you’re expected to know details (for the FR, at least). It is very easy to get blind sided on FR questions (England has a Supreme Court? I thought they had proposed it but never created it. There’s a difference between political rights and civil liberties?)

If you’re going for it, the Ethel Wood AP Comparative Gov’t and Politics: A Study Guide is the best.

For AP Human - I used PR and Barron’s. I waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overprepared. Barron’s by itself would suffice, and you should know a few facts that are not in the book.

Psychology - Barrons + CC
Human Geography - PR
Governments - CC +PR for US; Ethel Wood for comp
Environmental - Smartypants + PR

whats smartypants?

Don’t self study Music Theory unless you have at least a moderate music background or perfect pitch. It involves a lot of listening skills.

I’m planning on self-studying for Comp Sci with no programming background whatsoever. I have bookmarked a few Java tutorials (some basic, some rigorous) and Youtube videos and lectures (from TheNewBoston and Stanford’s OCW) that I plan to use. What review book is the best for CS, and when should I be using it–before beginning any of these tutorials, or just as a review after going through all the tutorials above?

Barrons and Be Prepared for the AP Computer Science Exam are the two best books for APCS.

As For AP Environmental, Princeton Review seems to be the new rage. Smartypants is better for cramming the night before, though since the exam is getting a bit harder every year, the book might not cover as much as is needed. Definitely get PR.

Comp Gov - Ehtel Wood

US. Gov - PR i think

Psychology - Barrons

environmental science isnt THAT EASY… lol. And AP Art History is NOT easy. A ton of memorization!

I would agree that AP Art History is not an easy self study. Too much memorization, and the opinion of a teacher is crucial when learning how to analyze pieces of art.

Environmental, use Princeton Review, Releaesed tests, and CB’s FRQs. thats all i used to get a 5!

Lit is very easy as well… Psych and US Gov are also good.
