which ones the easiest to get in for an international requiring no financial aid but with avg grades? and applying ed.

i will guess nyu.?

I think CMU, in your case.

None. It’s a crapshoot. Good luck!

what do you mean by avg grades?

NYU’s probably the hardest. Then it’s kind of a toss-up between Emory and CMU.

I’m going to have to agree with Stern being the hardest of the three. I’ve heard that Emory’s been getting much harder lately as well.

3.3, 1900 SAT, and 2 750s in SAT 2. international as well? all impossible even with ED. international asking for no aid.

try taking the sats again. but if you cant i think go for cmu or emory.

I applied to all three of these programs this year. Rejected from Stern and waitlisted for the other two.

I’m also an international student asking for no financial aid

2250 SAT I
2 800s and a 780 SAT IIs
4.0 GPA
4 APs

The competition really seemed tough this year.

ED would make a difference though…

where would ED help the most? every one is saying something different =p

ED won’t make THAT big of a difference. Stern is one of the hardest in the nation, and CMU and Emory are pretty selective too. I mean, look at Waitlist’s stats. Make sure you have some safeties prepared because NONE of those are easy to get into.

And don’t do ED just to help yourself get in- do ED only if you think a school would be PERFECT for you and you would have no regrets if you got in.

how much does ED increase chances for the three schools?

Well this list is for the university in general–not only business school–but I feel that it would be safe to assume that the institutions would hold a similar philosophy in terms of ED admittance across the different schools.

[USNews.com: America’s Best Colleges 2008: National Universities: Where applying early may help you most—or not](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/webex/Apply_earlynatudoc_brief.php)

NYU is not on the list and Carnegie Mellon’s acceptance rate increases by 1% and Emory’s acceptance rate increases 2% for ED applicants.

Why not apply to Univeristy of Michigan. who has rolling admissions and strong business. Why not find out if you can get into U Mich first then start looking at ED. CHances are if you can’t get into University of Michigan rolling admissions you wont get into cmu, emory or nyu ed.

And remember that ED applicant pools are sometimes more competitive, so if you aren’t already well within the “ranges” of the school, it might not help at all. BELIEVE me, I tried that game before and if your scores and GPA and ECs don’t compare, they’ll just reject you. After ED, I just wished that I would have looked at schools more within my range and applied there EA/ED so I could have gotten in somewhere early and eliminated some of my stress- going for a reach ED can hurt.

If you do ED at a reach, try to finish all your apps before you get your decision. If it’s not good, it is NOT fun to rush to get all the other applications done. It’s difficult to think about other schools until you know if your dream is going to accept you, but it’s really worth the effort and time.

does unc have ed or ea? umich has ea, im apply there but i want to go to stern. that seems impossible.

does any one know the percentage acceptance rates for ED compared to regular for NYU?

that list is old, things can change alot in 2 years. does any one have the latest list?
