Easiest way to transfer into UM?

If you transfer, is it easier if you're applying to LSA vs. Business? What about Summer vs. Fall? Can you apply to different colleges at UM (like apply to BOTH Engineering and LSA?) Do you have to pay twice the application fee, and write the essays for both colleges?

Forget about transfering into Ross. Only a few students successfully manage that each year. You can only apply to transfer into one college, generally Engineering or LSA. You cannot apply to both at the same time. And whether you apply for the Fall or Winter term doesn't really matter. The easiest way to transfer into Michigan is to go to a college or university that Michigan recognizes and maintain a 3.7+ GPA for a semester or two. Of course, if one attends another elite university like Northwestern or Chicago or Cornell, the GPA doesn't have to be nearly as high.

Is it that Ross prefers inter-campus applicants, or that they don't have applicants from other schools?

Also, can I apply to LSA, spend a semester at UM, then apply to Ross's 3-year program?

Do summer applicants have an advantage over Fall/Winter applicants in terms of admission?

It is that Ross prefers inter-campus applicants. Many applicants from other universities apply to Ross, but only a very select few get in.

The answer to the second question is yes, assuming you have taken most of the pre-requisites and have a high enough GPA. You really should talk to counselors at the University.

The answer to question #3 is no. There is no such thing as a good time to apply for transfers. The roling admissions rule does not apply to them, so all that matters is the number of openings availlable and the transfer's qualifications.

Is LSA easier to transfer into than Engineering? Even if I want to do Engineering, should I still apply to LSA so that I could potentially get into the University, and then transfer later? Is LSA the easiest college to gain acceptance into?

I feel though that my application will be stronger to Engineering because that's what I want to go into and what my ECs are related to, even though it's selective and I was rejected as a freshman.

LSA and Engineering are about equally difficult to get into. It is wiser to apply to the college you want rather than apply to one you think is easier to get into.
