Hello, My daughter is thinking of McGill. Her friend goes there and loves it. We visited yesterday and spent some of today there. Here is our question: Why are so many of the bookshelves in the library empty? Why is the East Asian Languages department in such shabby shape? It looks like it is full of pretty empty shelves. empty desks that look like they are for study and a completely empty building! We were shocked! Are they moving the department or is it really in the building next to the bookstore still? Also, Why is McGill canceling a bunch of it's english classes? Why so many cases empty in the library there? It just looks like maybe it is in transition or something. Not good. Otherwise we love the city but I worry sending her someplace that appears like it is not well organized or utilized. Looks like getting administrative stuff done might be hard too. Please tell me what you know. This campus is lovely- and the people so friendly- it just sends the red flags up in this mom's mind….
