My son is considering EAS and Economics joint. BTW, did you get in ?

Im a junior, but I am applying next year. I feel confident that i will get in, but i dont know till it happens.
But i read on the McGill site that the faculty of arts only looks at 11th and 12th grade marks which is good because my freshman and sophomore years werent so stellar. But junior year so far i have a 3.89uw and 4.2w.
Next year it will go up a ton, and my test scores are good enough

bumpity bump bump.
Is anybody in EAS at McGill that i could talk to on here

I know that some faculty and students from the EAS dept are currently in Beijing, so you may not get much of a response!

......any info please...

If you want a very serious academic and scholaristic study in EAS (etc..go to Graduate school)....go to UBC....they have amazing faculties, abundant info, documents, books and excellent location (gateway to the pacific) ....

I have a EAS friend at McGill. He is only 2nd year (undergrad) and takes graduate courses where u only got 4-5 ppl in a seminar. And he gets higher grades in paper than those Masters and PhDs.....make sure u take the language seriously...spend lotz of time otherwise no matter how beautifully written ur paper is....u are just unable to dig deeper into the field without a solid language skill in one or more EA languages.

McGill is not THAT bad .... but still can't compete with UBC in EAS....

Im guessing you go to UBC. Anyway, yeah i will spend tons of time learning the languages, even studying extra material that i will never get in class.

I am at McGill btw
