<p>Can anyone who’s majoring in one of these two majors tell me what the East Asian Studies or Linguistics departments are like at UC Davis? I got accepted with the East Asian Studies major (but planning on double-majoring in Linguistics as well) and I want to know how good UCD’s EAS and Linguistics departments are compared to other UCs like UCI, UCB, and UCLA.</p>
<p>i can’t compare to any other UCs having only attended this one, but our linguistics department is smallish and more intimate than most others (for example, economics, my other major). i know my professors and TAs very well compared to my econ ones, and classes are a good size for interaction. classes can vary based on the professor. there are a lot of double majors in linguistics too, probably because it’s fairly short.</p>
