Hey laxman.....their East Asian studies is fine as is the one at Yale. My best friend did summer in Beijing and had kids from both schools in it.

hey hazmat, very nice to see you lurking around in the princeton forum haha

thanks for your response ... as you can see, im trying to figure out a potential major in college other than marketing and finance lol

You could actually do both......you're smart and the language/culture thing is one facet. My friend is East Asian Studies/Mandarin language and he loves it. There are many good programs out there......don't forget the two major contributions of money to G'town and Harvard for Middle Eastern Studies.....$20M to each school. Harvard & G'town. They will be looking to feed the programs.

For what its worth, my Chinese teacher, who seems to somehow know just about everyone involved in and everything about Chinese Language/Asian Studies programs in the United States (and whose opinion should have a good deal of credibility given her background) maintains that Princeton's program is the absolute best.

Well there 'ya go. Ask the prof at your own school and whadday get.....the school she teaches in.

Lol, but actually, I don't go to Princeton- I'm still in high school (and my Chinese teacher hasn't ever taught at or attended Princeton either). I just thought I'd share her opinion, as it has had some weight in my own college search.

I'm just kidding 'ya. I am too brain fried from finals and tomorrow is my last one.......woot.

Lol, I know the feeling. Good luck with your last one!

Thanks........my last Latin final for life......for life, did 'ya catch that one?

Shellzie, thank you for your input.

and Hazmat, good luck on the last latin final of your life.

As someone who majored in Japanese and studied Mandarin at a top program, I feel safe in saying that Princeton is definitely a top program.
