Hello, everybody

I'm pretty sure I'd like to major in East Asian Studies at wherever I end up (though I'd also like to keep my options open). I'll be applying to schools this fall, and was wondering if any of you know of schools that have strong departments.

Schools I've looked and am thinking about:

Amherst
Yale
UMich
UofI
Stanford
Berkley

Any thoughts? Guidance? Discouragement?

The University of Pennsylvania and Brown also have strong East Asian Studies departments.

UCSD is very well known for their department.

Pitt also has a well known East Asian studies department.

Johns Hopkins has a strong program. See [East Asian Studies Home Page](<a href=“http://sites.jhu.edu/east-asian/index.html]East ”>http://sites.jhu.edu/east-asian/index.html )

Berkeley just completed a new library dedicated to East Asian studies:

Two more in the midwest with strong departments: University of Chicago and Earlham

Pick schools who send you your speciality country by free or without any extra cost than their COA.
