East Coast Countdown till' Decisions

I thought it would be a good idea if everybody on the East Coast collectively discussed any updates in one thread. When do you all think we will receive our decisions? Tomorrow? Thursday?

I think there is a solid chance for tomorrow, based on the rumors that they mailed out some decisions prior to today.

As soon as somebody gets a letter, you all better post and let us all know!

This is a great idea!
I’m from NJ. I really hope we get the decisions tomorrow because I’m going on a plane to visit other colleges, and I really don’t want to have to wait until the third :/

Wow, that is a difficult position to be in. I just visited three east coast colleges last week. The only schools I may visit from this point on are USC (1k for my dad and I to fly out -_- ughhh) and my state flagship (UMD-CP). I want to get into USC so bad!
This years admissions are going to be brutal though :(

I can’t wait !

Nihility, I want into USC so bad too! What school did you apply to? (I’m SCA for film). And I know airplane tickets our brutal, luckily I’m visiting colleges other than USC (ones I’m actually in).
Good luck to everyone, from me as well! I guess a lot of people should know tomorrow

Unfortunately, I applied to Dornsife, which I guess isn’t that big of a deal, although I don’t think it is what I want at this point. I would really like to start as an Industrial Engineer, but I didn’t realize there was significance put on “major interests” section of Common App. I guess I can deal with switching later. Shouldn’t be too onerous of a process.

who said that they mailed them out prior to today?

It was my understanding that they sent them all out the same day…today. I have family in CA and i know from experience that normal mail takes up to a week to get there. Mailing 60,000 letters more than normal in one day probably slows it down even more. I want my letter (Despite the expectation that it’s a rejection) tomorrow as much as the next guy, but my money is on sometime early next week or Saturday if we are lucky.

Would love to see that acceptance letter though. It would at least mean a small vacation to LA next month:)

Keep in mind, this is not normal mail 12Artleye, this is Priority. Should be quicker.

SC had around 45,000 applications for freshmen spots. Already admitted are over a thousand for merit scholarship consideration and some recruited athletes who had to be admitted at an earlier date by NCAA rules. Admit rate is expected to be in the high teens. Packets sent out this week should be roughly 7000. Unfortunately, there will be thousands of business sized envelopes mailed first class for those who did not receive admission.

^thanks for the warning. I wouldn’t want to get excited over a rejection! Waiting in FL

So if I open my mailbox and see a tiny envelope with the USC emblem, I can close the mailbox right back up and run inside bursting into tears?
This probably won’t be far from reality unfortunately.

Nothing in the mail today!

Mango15, where are you? Without violating your privacy, I mean.

Nothing for me either. I live near Boston, Massachusetts.

I got into Occidental college, where is very close to USC. Oxy sent the acceptance packet by priority mail and I got it in two days in Boston. I think we will get mail tmr.

I live in Miami, FL. I heard someone got an acceptance letter today in Cali so hopefully tomorrow is the day.

No luv for Midwesterners!? Hopefully Chicago gets there letters tommorow

I live in Maryland. I just emptied the mailbox and had nothing. I second the others opinions that it will likely be here tomorrow. OMG my heart drops every time I think about it.

If I get a regular sized envelope I’m just going to save my self the trouble and burn it.
