I just read on here that if you're from the east coast you have a better shot. Is that true? Because I'm from North Carolina so that would be really awesome..Does USC have a required quota of in-state students?

If they do, they don't publish it. Their admissions practices encourage diversity, not just racial, but geographic and economic diversity as well. So if you're applying from a state they don't recieve a ton of applications from, you probably do get a slight boost.

It's a private school...I don't know why they would have a quota.

Being from the east coast is a boost. Being from North Carolina would be extra helpful.

Make sure you let them know of your interest and try and get to a regional
recruiting meeting. LAST YEAR'S SCHEDULE is at: http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/visit/events/road/. DC or Atlanta would be the closest.
