East Lothian Triple

How is college life in a triple like compared to the normal double occupancy rooms? Does anyone have any pictures of a triple or any diagrams such as these Housing Services - Lothian ??

quite frankly, riverside’s triple occupancy dorms seem terrible. I’m currently a high school senior-- going to UCR next year, so I don’t know first hand, but from what I can tell, most, if not all of the triples are loft style.
There’s pictures here: [Welcome to Facebook | Facebook](<a href=“Facebook - log in or sign up”>Facebook - log in or sign up)

more specifically, here’s the pictures of the “lofts”.

couldn’t find one of Lothian’s triples in that album…

Thank you!

I lived in a E.Lothian Triple when I was a freshman! room was bigger than the doubles so that was nice. It’s not loft style life the other triples. there is a bunk bed with top and bottom. the other bed is a bunk bed but instead of a bed, it’s a desk on the bottom. then there are two other desks across the room.

I’ll draw it up for you in a bit and post it here.

Just finished drawing and uploaded it. It’s rough, colorless and lacking the three chairs, but you get the picture/idea of the layout and amount of space you get. I do remember hitting my head on the ceiling a few times when I first moved in since I slept on the top bunk over my desk.

Here you go!

Also, unlike the other dorms. E.Lothian’s triples is a actually a bigger room, not a double that was built upwards like AI. So if all three people are at their desk the room would not feel “congested”

Has anyone lived in triples??
is it more uncomfortable than doubles??? and how uncomfortable is it?

It’s only comfortable IF you like the 2 other people you live with. Sadly with my experience I had one cool roommate and one gross one.

As mentioned. East Lothian’s triples are made from bigger rooms, that’s why it’s better, from what I remembered, West Lothian and A&I use the same size rooms as doubles, but built a wooden loft to gain more space.

Oh wow, those are really nice diagrams. Thank you for the info, it really helps!

Other than the desk and the bed, what else comes with the dorm? A fridge? Waste basket? Anything?

Fridge… ONE recycling basket… and AC? hahah

Did triple at Pentland, wasn’t bad at all

each room comes with 1 fridge, microwave, AC.

We have to buy our own mattresses for the beds right… just wondering haha.

nope… don’t have to buy a mattress… but a good mattress topper is recommended.

Sorry I have so many questions, but I’m trying to compile my list of things to get for my dorm. Since the rooms come with desks, do they also come with desk chairs???

Yes they do. There is nothing else aside from a desk, chair, and mattress.

When I went to SUHP we stayed at A&I and there was a trashcan. Is there a trashcan in every room?

sometimes my room didnt :frowning: but other rooms did i also had a ■■■■■■■■ share

Yes, the chair matches the bed and dresser draws.
