We were going to do Olive Garden for our Easter weekend dinner. We decided to go to Whole Foods instead for wraps and sushi.
I have often brought deviled eggs to picnics and church brunches. Even if other folks bring them too, I always bring home an empty plate. (Sometimes I have to carry the plate around, let people snatch more since they were being polite earlier. Mine are not fancy or pretty, but nobody seems to care.
The Joy of Cooking cookbook defines eternity as âtwo people and a hamâ. Nonetheless hubby put one in the cart for the two of us to have for Easter dinner, and I relented. Itâs been OK to have leftovers, and we especially like the bean soup made with ham bone. Soon we will likely opt to make some freezer packets of leftover ham.
I only like ham in small doses but do enjoy having small packs to pull from the freezer for things like quiche, ham and augratin potatoes, omelets.
Huh, I always thought ham was one of those things that didnât freeze well! I gotta try that.
The two people and a ham joke is so spot on. My husband doesnât eat meat, so itâs always just me and my daughter eating the ham and it does feel like it lasts FOREVER.
