Easy A Classes: Athlethes

What are some of the easiest classes at umich? I'm talking about the ones that all the athlete takes and are guaranteed A's. I need a filler class!

For you, I’d recommend something in the English department.

^ #rekt

most humanities/social science 100 level classes are the easiest, and ones in departments like amcult.

Lsa…

:d

^ Agreed. LSPlay outside of math and hard sciences.
A lot of social sciences and humanities classes are really easy, especially the 3 credit ones, regardless of level. Econ classes are extremely easy if you are math literate. For instance, 401 is the easiest class ever because it’s graded on a curve and so many econ majors have trouble doing simple calculus.

Come on now bearcats. 401 was the easiest class ever? Plenty of IOE classes are easier than it. Are you going to claim IOE 201 was harder than Econ 401? Even with strong math intuition, there are definitely easier classes out there than Econ 401.

From other MEs that have taken IOE classes I’ve heard they are a joke. I get to take IOE 425 next semester too

I’ve also heard Econ is a joke if you know what a derivative is…

why are you planning on taking ioe 425? i highly discourage you from taking it. it’s a huge waste of time, and you won’t learn anything.

Here are some specific courses that I’ve found to be easy/heard are very easy:

ANTHRBIO 101
PSYCH 111
PSYCH 240
BIO 118 - it was a course about AIDS + diseases
ASTRO 101 & 102

Mainly straight-up memorization, no critical thinking or problem-solving, especially for the Psychology courses. I’m ■■■■■■■■ (Bearcats says so since I’m an econ major) and I even found it impossible to get lower than an A in the courses above that I took.

I’m in Econ 401 and while I’m doing well, it by no means is easy for me. I personally wouldn’t recommend it for an easy A as the tests can get quite tricky and you really have to spend time doing the HW and problem sets to understand rather than just memorizing facts the night before (you can’t really memorize facts for Econ courses). But Bearcats has 3,745 posts, so who am I to say that Econ 401 is difficult?

**Also, I’d caution you from coming to the conclusion that UM athletes are all stupid. I’ve found the Football players to be quite smart actually. They participate during section and generally seem to care about learning during class. The athletes that don’t give a dang about class seem to come more from the “richer” people sports like Baseball, Lacrosse, and Wrestling.

IOE 425 is a requirement for the Manufacturing Systems concentration for ME

astro 101… lol. It’s an easy class but not that easy to get an A. I didn’t do well on my 2nd midterm and didn’t change the grading to P/F, which screwed me over. GPA went from 3.9 to 3.6 because of B in astro, *** for shooting myself in the foot.

Hopefully UM offers classes like:

Introduction to Tact

Prejudice, Pre-conceived Notions and You

Answering “How Did YOU Get In?”

Things To Do On Thursday Nights, When the Athletes are Visiting Sick Children

I could say they also know how to spell athlete, but that would be rude.

Oh, oops.

There are slackers in all walks of life, but my athlete kid works from early am till late at night. She has tutors and mandatory study hours each week, random drug tests, no underage drinking or wild parties, random class visits from coaches, monitoring of FB and twitter accounts by coaches, volunteering, classes and papers and tests, plus about 25 hours of practices and games for nearly the entire school year. She is also a science major.

She was a top student in her high school, and hasn’t found one of those easy A classes, yet. I am sure she is looking forward to one, but this is Michigan, afterall. Every kid was a good student and the competition is fierce.

It is often the case that will find a class not to be an easy A if you take the class solely because you think it is easy A. You’re much better off finding classes that interest you and inspire you to do well. That’s why bearcats thinks that Econ 401 is easy and why square thinks Astro 101 was tough.
