Easy Classes @ CAL

Hey guys,

Classes @ Berkeley are hard and once in a while we need a "filler" class to balance things out a bit. So, I think it would be great if everyone on CC took a second to name a few classes they have taken or heard of that are REALLY easy. Then the CC commnity will always have a list that we can reference when in need of an easy class.

NAME THE CLASS AND THE PROF

I'll Start: Anthro 2AC (Prof. Lightfoot)
EPS 80 (Prof. Berry)
Music 27 (Prof. Van Orden)

LET'S KEEP THIS GOING! IF YOU'VE VISITED THIS THREAD, THEN POST @ LEAST 1 CLASS THAT YOU KNOW OF!

NST 10
Asian American Studies 20A
Psych 2

Astro C12/EPS C12 (Prof. Marcy & Prof. Manga)
Education 190
ESPM 50AC (Prof. Spreyer)

Here's a list of easy courses that I've compiled:

ESPM 50AC
South and Southeast Asian Studies R5B
South Asian R5B
EDUC 190
PSYCH 2
NUSCTX 11
NUSCTX 10
EPS C12
PSYCH 106
CLASSICS 28
ASAMST 20A
ASAMST R2A
MATH 1A
ENV SCI 10
ANTHRO 3
ANTHRO 2
IB 131
IB 132

For some of these classes, it depends on the professor.

Let's keep te ball rollin....everybody, add to the list....you might be able to benefit from it at some point.

Of all the classes I've taken at Cal, I found Psych 150 and Psych 160 to be the easiest (by a landslide). For me, the workload for those classes was miniscule. The only homework (when I took them) was "reading," but I've found that it wasn't necessary for me unless I was studying for the exams. The only work I did in those classes was studying for 5 hours the night before each of the 3 exams. That's it, and I know I wasn't alone.

American Studies 10 is usually fun and easy too. It's always got some sort of WACKY theme! :-D

ESPM 119 chemical ecology fun class and only need 30 min study before each midterms to get A. exams are based on different experiments discussed in class

ASTRO 10 extremely fun class, exams are really easy.

MCB 11 ditto

EPS 20 i took it pass no pass. Studied 20 mins before each exam and got B's.... so... not to bad.

ESPM 50AC ? cools that'll help me with my AC requirement :) which lecturer?

PMB 10. Basically, I didn't do anything the entire semester, other than write a 3-page paper. Crammed the entire semester's worth of material the day before the final(wasn't fun though), aced it, and got an A in the class.

Any easy R/C class beside Asian American?

German typically has the easiest R&C classes.

Philosophy 12A (prof. Fitelson)

Please tell me more about ES 10 and if the field study is good too

Is Math1A really easy??? I heard it was hard as hell... I think I might need to take that, but if it's easy that would be awesome

Depend on your major, your professor and how much you like Math. From what I heard it is easy not that rough...

1B is tough though...

The easiness of Math 1A really depends on your professor. Last Fall there were 3 Math 1A classes-- taught by Borcherds, Haiman, and Steel. Borcherds and Haiman were really easy and had a great helpful curve. Steel's curve was the unhelpful kind where you needed more than a 90 to get an A on some of his exams.

EPS 131, EPS 185, and CHEM 105

Anthro 2, English 135, and UGBA 107 were all easy.
