No way to escape the university writing requirement. In sum, writing is work. Writing is like organized thinking - on paper. The more you work at it the better you get. I’ve known some born mathematicians, but no born writers.

I suggest taking 1102 and start moving on with your writing skill set development. Embrace it.

Since this is only your first semester, I figure you might want to hear the bad news:

Most classes involve writing. Some involve doing a LOT of it. And often times, there’s really nothing you can do to avoid it- especially if you haven’t fulfilled the Gordon Rule requirements.

doc, I’d like to help you with picking among those courses, but I did freshman english comp requirement with DE in high school so I’m not familiar with the FSU freshman courses you listed. The only advise I can give you is to not wait 'til the last minute to do any writing assignment homework. I know it is easier said than done, I’m the world’s worst procrastinator, but try to work doing your writing papers the weekend before they are due to avoid last minute meltdown time crunches. Too, make yourself stay at your desk in your chair until you finish maybe 500 words at a sitting–don’t get out of your chair until you get a portion of your writing done.
