Easy GE's

Can we start a discussion about some easy GE's from different categories. As much I as love education, I rather focus my time on studies on my major.

Here are a couple easy ones I was lucky enough to take this semester.

SOC 169: Changing Family Forms (GE 6) - A basic class. You don't even have to show up because most of the slides are on blackboard. Have a friend sign in you and make sure they take down the three hidden slides and questions she always includes

AMST 301: America, the Frontier, and the New West w/ Gustasfon (GE 1) - pretty easy class. make you take it with Gustasfon as the other professor does it differently. You are required to turn in a paragraph response every class which is used for your attendance. The papers are graded very easy and you are allowed to submit them again if you don't like your grade. The discussion is provoking and short.

I'm looking for an easy GE 5 Arts and Letters.

GE5 Modern Russian Art is pretty good. It's not the easiest class but not the hardest either. We get simple weekly homework and professor Bowlt is just fascinating. i think he speaks around 3-5 languages, I'm not even sure. (russian, english, italian and so on) He doesn't rush people through either. Check his rating out its pretty good everywhere. One thing about this class is that it starts at 8:30 in the morning. However, I really hate getting up in the mornings but I sucked up and did it and realized it wasn't all that bad (i have to get up 8:00 or 8:30 every morning except saturdays)

Cat IV: PHYS 100 w/ Professor Haas. AMAZING... he's hilarious, gives the answers to the homeworks before they're due, has open book midterms... easy and fun class.

Can anybody give me a good CAT IV or III? I'm NOT a science person so I'm trying to avoid strict biology, chemistry, or physics. I just want a easy class I can take and get the hell out of.

Can we take one GE pass/fail??

You can take one GE P/F.

As far as cat 3/4, I've heard the geology classes are good. I took bisc 230 (neuroscience) which was really fun, but I guess if you don't like bio/chem that wouldn't be a good choice but I recommend it to other people. It was difficult, but interesting.

I second Bowlt for cat 5... easily my favorite GE

EXSC 205 - Science of Human Performance. I'm taking it right now. If you show up to every class, piece of cake. If you don't show up and have someone else's notes, also probably piece of cake. Some people complain about the labs, but honestly, it's not hard.
