1) I need a one unit class that is open, anyone know of any?

2) can s,jr,sr's enroll in freshmen seminars (if they are open)?

3) do med schools count Decal units? <ashamed></ashamed>

Although I’ve never taken it personally, I’ve heard Poli Sci 179 is a great 1 unit filler course. It’s just a 1 hour lecture a week (W 4-5), guest speakers, no homework, and just one simple quiz at the end. It’s taken P/NP and anyone can enroll in it. Can’t help you in your other question about med schools though.

Students often spend more time on the 1 unit classes than on the 3 unit classes. So be careful which you choose.

bioe 24/25-easiest class ever

yeah, I’m signed up for PS 179 but bioE 25 seems to have a final…not sure what that is…

bioE24 is so easy that I’m afraid I might have forgotten something…we didn’t get a syllabus, do do we need to do anything else waiting4col? have we even had our last quiz yet?

but bioE25 has a date and room set for a “final” that makes me think it may be a little more difficult than bioe 24 (which doesn’t say much…)

he didnt post anymore on bSpace so we should be good to go :)

L & S 5.

Just a bunch of guest speakers. Weekly forum posts (will take legit 2 minutes) and some readings, but never tested, so you don’t have to do them. P/NP, whole grade based on attendance/forum posts.

It’s about entrepreneurship too, so it’s actually interesting.

Emery, can you elaborate on that? What do you mean?

I think he just means that units are not really representative of the work load for a class. For example Bio 1AL, which is only 2 units easily is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more work than NES 18 + ESPM 50AC + PSYCH 2 = 11 units.

Oh I see. DANG Bio is more work than 11 units?! Sigh looks like I will have to find easy classes to take with that later on :X.

Well I can’t really put a definite number that is equivalent to BIO 1AL, but Mike Meighan will REALLY make you work for those 2 units. Class is very intense and has gained a reputation.

BIOENGINEERING 24/25

I am serious when I say this is the easiest class ever. All it requires is the “magic word” to say you’ve been there and 100% of the class is based on attendance.

Thus, theoretically you could go to 0 classes and still get a Pass. I went to only 3 before I gave up and got the magic word from my friends.

look on courserank…they have a search tool that you can search for 1 unit classes, and put like an A+ average, A, etc,…basically look for the easy-to-pass one unit classes.

in all seriousness, is BioE 24/25 easy or are you guys kidding? It’s still very open.

yeah it’s easy. I was in BioE 24 this semester and all i learned is that Teagames.com is my favorite website.

no joke, the easiest 1 unit class. you just sit and “meditate” but most of the class just falls asleep. I went to like three classes then I gave up on it. only assignment was turning in 2 “meditation logs”. Some classes say that theres a final but there really isnt (ie pacs 94)

you can always just sign up for the class and then drop it later. its only 1 unit, its not going to make that much of a diff in ur telebears

oh and to my belief, med schools dont care as long as you have their pre-req classes

Are these 1 unit classes worth your time?

Speaking of bioe 24/25…
I’m an undeclared engineering student interested in learning more about BioE, except I’m not sure if it’s worth taking bioE 24 seminar or just speaking with bioengineering ugrad/grad students or professors.

Should I add the class?

definitely take the class. 90% of the people sleep in it but you can actually learn a lot if you listen.
