Im planning on taking an R1B class, can anyone recommend an easy class and maybe even the GSI or professor??
thanks!

German R5B with Banwell if the department brings her back.

Banwell will be teaching R5B next semester. Something about the philosophy behind the translation of German texts

how's slavic r5b?

how easy is banwell?

Any German R5B class will be easily, regardless of the instructor.

why is that? is it still easy if you didn't take german r5a?

Any German R5B class will be easy*, excuse me for the typo.

It's also easy if you take German R5A. I guess it's just how the German department functions. Every German R5A or R5B class has an extremely high A percentage.

I'm looking for the same exact thing.

Awesome, looks like banwell r5b fits perfectly in my schedule!

edit:

LOL, anyone else taking their r1b during their very last semester at berkeley?

How about Dewey for German r5B? I'm not sure if Banwell fits into my schedule.

is Banwell only teaching the one section (005)?

How about Dewey's German r5B or Scandinavian r5B?

german r5b

Scandinavian R5B!

Do easy R1B classes help you in the long run? From the sound of things, they don't require that much work, as my friend is in German R1A and he doesn't get any homework. Do your writing skills improve as much in an easy class as compared to a more challenging course?

Well, I would assume that it depends on the student's situation. Actually, I consider writing for an academic subject to be more important than writing for English class. Considering that I might possibly be a math major, I think that getting r5B over with without too much trouble would help.
