Easy UCSD Courses

MUS-40015 (2 units)

The stuff on Gillespie's practice midterm is only half of the real midterm.

It's not actually that his midterm is hard, it's more that you don't get nearly enough time on it.

If you take ALL the quizzes seriously in Gillespie's class (they're exactly like the practice ones he gives out the lecture before), and go to EVERY lab (easiest thing ever...simple html, if you had a myspace, you can breeze through it), then you can go into the midterms and finals with more than a 100% since he also offers extra credit...the midterm wasn't so bad, but make sure to STUDY. The final is HORRIBLE, but if you're coming into it with a high A you shouldn't have to worry...but if that's not the case, then study ALL THE LABS because most of the exam is designated to JavaScript that we covered during the labs....

Drsarah, that sounds like CSE3 not CSE12.

Cogs 3 hands down. I haven't taken it myself, but enough ppl have told me how easy it was.

People finished the final in 15 mins.

(I've heard cogs 3 and cse 3 were kinda similar. both easy too)

I was gonna say COGS3, without a doubt, but jellybelly beat me to it.

I took it winter quarter. It's taught by Mary Boyle, a prominent cognitive science professor, but the class itself is extremely easy. Notes were online so I never went to lecture, and I just had a friend tell me when to come in for quizzes (there were 4 or 5 total throughout the quarter). Assignments are due every Saturday and, at most, take 1-2 hours if you're a little computer illiterate.

The final was also mostly a compilation of a bunch of questions that students themselves created and put up on the website. The other questions were simple enough that if you took the time to read every lecture slide she put up, you'd do well on.

COGS 3 - Introduction to Computing

Only one natural science PofC left :)

Oops, sorry yes my description was for CSE 3

Can you take these classes even though it doesn't really fulfill any requirement? I'm a phys/neuro major and I don't necessarily need COGS 3. But I want to take it because it can potentially be a GPA booster. Can I take the course and still have it be a part of my GPA?

Yes, you can still take it, and it will still be part of your cumulative GPA.

do you guys know of any easy 2 unit classes for a letter grade as well? There’s beginning dance but right now all the sections are super waitlisted. Also, when I checked webreg, it said Gospel Choir is only P/NP? I thought I heard someone say it was for a grade ):

I’m taking POLI 10 now and it’s cake.

LING 176 with Ackerman. The material is extremely interesting. You have to write a 2-4 page paper every week or so but he basically said he doesn’t believe in grades. Its extremely easy

I haven’t taken any more classes with Ackerman but I assume they are all light.

Math 10 Series, CSE 3, BILD series

CSE 3, any of the SIO classes, SOCI 30

is CSE12 really easy or ppl r just messing around… =.=

ya there are messing around. CSE 12 is a hard class/material, just check their grade distribution :[GradeSource - CSE 12 - Fall, 2009 - Course Standings](http://www.gradesource.com/reports/7/16300/coursestand.html)

cse 12! :D

jk hehe. I thought lign 17 was pretty easy and fun. Performance music classes are easy A’s too. It’s just participation based.

I heard CSE3 has been totally remodeled this year and is completely different. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, CSE3 used to be easy with incredibly boring, tedious work. Now it is easy with fun projects.

So it’s still easy despite being revamped? Kinda weird though since the course is mainly for Sixth College students now…
