Eat healthy!

Well I have been trying to eat healthy lately and am accumulating a list of good foods since the ones on my list have started to taste very.. Indifferent. Anyway, here it goes:

1- Chicken breast
2- Veggies
3- Fruits
4- Turkey breast slices on bread as a sandwich
5- Cereal for Breakfast
6- Italian Ices (yummy yummy)
7- ...
8- ...

Well that's pretty much it on my list, anyone have anything to fill in the empty spaces?
Have to avoid thAt freshman 15 =]

mcdonalds ice cream cones. only 150 calories!

Avoid…? You have no idea what dining hall food is like. Good luck finding half of that stuff and, if you do, not drowned in butter or sauces. Only healthy thing? Salads. And occasionally you can have a deli-style make-your-own-panini thing.

-whole wheat bread or an english muffin w/ peanut butter and honey is an amazing combo… you can also add a banana on top for a really filling breakfast
-for snacks-- nuts, but portion size is key
-popcorn has got a lot of fiber, but if you load it up with butter and salt it won’t do you any favors

I live off of rice, beans and lentils

I live off gin and vermouth.

I take one a day women’s vitamin supplements to make sure I am getting the daily required nutrients.

-eat a salad for lunch, but watch what kind of dressing you use. The dressing could have more calories than the whole salad itself.

Speaking of salads, I heard some of McDonald’s salads had more calories than their burgers.

If you include the dressing, yes. Otherwise, not really.

I got curious about this and did a quick search about it. They list the dressing separately, so I’ll assume it’s not included:

Premium Southwest Salad with Crispy Chicken 430 calories
Double Cheeseburger 440 calories
Quarter Pounder®+ 440 calories
Chocolate Triple Thick® Shake (12 fl oz cup) 440 calories
Hot Caramel Sundae 340 calories
Premium Bacon Ranch Salad with Crispy Chicken 370 calories
Premium Southwest Salad with Grilled Chicken 320
Cheeseburger 330 calories

(Is “crispy chicken” their nice way of saying “fried?”)

Clearly I have too much free time. :(

The messed part is that there are hoards of people who see the word salad and think that it must be okay. McDonald’s can’t even make “healthy” food healthy.

Yeah crispy is fried. Those are decent-sized salads, so with minimal dressing, 400ish calories isn’t bad.

That said, other fast food restaurants offer lower-calories salads. Sheetz for example (a regional business) has some good choices.

The freshman 15 is inevitable, whether it’s beer weight or a ton of high-calorie food, it’s going to happen. I thought I was going to eat healthy too, but by December, I stopped caring.

That said, just eat a lot of fruit if you want to be healthy.

Wow, this thread took a strange turn. What’s the topic again?

Enough of the incessant spam. No one wants to read your novel in every post. Post it once in an offtopic forum.

Yeah, that novel advertisement was kind of random.

Everyone thinks they can write. If you have to advertise your “novel” here, then chances are you’re no Laurie Halse Anderson.

From what I’ve seen CC-folk aren’t receptive to blatant advertising. In fact, most people block the Google ads.
