Eating as a freshman

If I'm staying in a dorm, what is the best way to feed myself?

Meal plan (cafeterias?)? (worried about getting tired of available options)
Eating out all the time? (worried about price and time)
Getting a microwave + mini fridge? (worried about dorm room space & inability to cook various foods)

What is the easiest, most convenient, and cheapest?

You’re gonna get fat, fatty.

meal plan is good… plus u paid for it already.
microwave food’s are unhealthy

A fridge is a must. Stock up on cheese, bread, and milk. Don’t stockpile junk food, because your roommates and friends will finish them before you do.

Are their (shared, obviously) facilities like stovetops/microwaves/pantry-type places in buildings or are dorm blocks just rooms and nothing else?

And are we allowed (de facto, not really the rulebook) stuff like minifridges and coffee makers/kettles in dorm rooms?

Technically, you’re not supposed to bring that stuff, but in all honesty, they won’t care if you do.

Well, you don’t just do one. Everyone who lives in the dorms has the meal plan, which means you can eat in the Dining commons and some campus cafes (handy). But you can always eat out every once in a while, depending on your cash. Definitely bring a fridge, is allowed, and keep milk, yogurt, whatever for breakfast (if you want).

Yeah fridges are nice. I am so happy to live off campus my second year – the dorm food was OK for the first few weeks, but after that it got annoying.

Eating out for a change is a good way to stay sane.

i dunno .i love dorm food. i eat it every meal pretty much hahah. i just eat rice.

hahaha chango99
