D applied to PSU. Got accepted to Eberly School of Science. Does that mean anything different than a regular acceptance or do they place everyone in some sort of school?

Any info would be appreciated.

Your D applied to the science college at the University.
Penn State Eberly College of Science | Superlatives

My son also got accepted to the Eberly College of Science. He listed science as I guess his top interest, but he didn't realize he would then be place in science. He is interested in sciences, but still undecided as to whether he wants to pursue that or something like pre-law. So we wondered about this too, and whether or not it is easy to switch if you decide you want to change schools.

My daughter also did not apply to Eberly, she did list sciences as her probable major but she too is not totally commited that way yet.

Thanks for info so far.

Huh, that's interesting.

I think your student had to make a choice. (?) If they were unsure of their major they should have selected division of undergraduate studies.(DUS)

Yes, you can switch "colleges". Some majors are more difficult to get in than others and require the student to have a specific GPA so have your student do well in that first year. They may be able to switch around prior to starting . They do need to ask. Do not worry too much about it.
