I got an email from UCLA saying I need to pay $2,380 by September 20. Anyone else got that email? It says that it's a monthly fee... so would I be paying that amount every month? What does the $2,380 cover? Tuition, housing, or what?

Well it actually tells you how much you are allowed to pay after the anticipated financial aid.

The monthly thing means that the billing cycle of BAR is every month, but it doesn't necessarily mean that there will be charges every month. It's just like a monthly credit card payment.

And technically, it's not a flat fee because the enhancement fees vary depending on the number of units. ;)

For those who want to wait for finaid to disburse the funds on the 18th (like me), there will still be enough time to pay the difference (if any) by online payment. Just make sure you pay it before 4:45 pm on Sept. 20.

Yeah, there's time for it to wait until the funds are disbursed.

Citan: I'm pretty sure that's the case. It should have a figure under Aid Available to Pay Fees that represents how much you can expect finaid to pay. Maximum Credit Card Payment Allowed should be the amount that you actually owe.

I've already accepted my financial aid on Aug 20, but my maximun credit card payment is still 2380. Also, ucla fin aid sent an email that my cal grant is on-hold since CSAC still haven't get my certification form. But when I called them, CSAC said they got my form. Everything is screwd up. :( Now I can't even rent an apartment cuz I have to pay for tuition fee if I don't get my fin aid on time. :(

my financial aid is just enough to cover my tuition... so on the 18th will it be taken care of and i just need to check or is there some online button i need to press?

Does it say that the maximum allowable payment is $0? If so there's nothing for you to do since they won't even let you pay. You can always check after the finaid is actually disbursed to double check.

Jasonx88: yes it's called the instructional enhancment fee or something...I believe its 8/unit for HSSEAS and 7/unit for Letter & Sciences student...a load of BS
