Which is better? I really prefer textbooks because I can get distracted more easily if I'm on a computer, but aren't ebook prices much lower?

I think I would prefer ebooks. Many of my classes require that we bring our books to class. And I’m a commuter so I need to fit everything into my backpack and most textbooks are so big and heavy. I like to bring the books anyways in case I need them to complete homework or readings between classes.

My Nook is small and light and can fit hundreds of books on it at once. Unfortunately I can hardly ever find an ebook version of the books I need. There were only a couple and they were more expensive than the physical books were new, and much more expansive than used. So I’m going to continue lugging books around. At least until my school gets with the program and comes into the modern age.

Often times, when I have looked into ebooks they are the same price or cost more than physical books. I have yet to have a class where I need to bring in the text book more than once or twice. I think it’s easier to get the physical book, its easier to go back to pages you need etc

I prefer the physical book because it is easier to navigate and less distracting. If you have a bunch of them that you will have to carry around then I would get the eBook

@LeighWynter Hmmmm yeah I prefer actual textbooks but I’m worried the books will be big and heavy to carry around.
@Jazzii Really? They cost more? I thought they were cheaper… damn.
@roxyangel62 well I only have three classes, but they’re on the same two days… so yeah.

Most E-books are cheaper. There is an adjustment period where you have to get use to using an ebook but I find that I like it better. If i’m studying I usually need a laptop to look up stuff anyways so if I have a physical book there is a lot of space taken up on the desk in front of me.

If you don’t have to bring them to class everyday then I would get the physical books. You can always rent them for pretty cheap or buy used ones and sell them back. You can also ask the professor if you can get older editions of the book which tend to be much cheaper. Ebooks can get very distracting and be hard to navigate.
