I'd really like to become more active after school but I'm having trouble finding more things to do. For one, I'm really out of luck when it comes to transportation. My parents work a lot so it's tough to get a ride and they're not comftorable with me riding with someone else which is understandable. For example, last year my school wanted to start a lacrosse team so I decided to join. The practices were about an hour or two after school ended so I had to stay at school and wait instead of going back home and coming back again. Even worse, I had to wait another hour or two until practice was over to actually go home. I probably won't get my license until junior year (I'm a sophomore right now) but I'd really just like to develop a hobby and be more active after school. Right now, I tutor and I'm a mentor for a program through my state that offers online classes. Other than that, I'm self studying a foreign language which I love and would like to continue on with other languages. Do you all have any suggestions for some things I could try that don't require transportation, something I could do at home in my spare time? I'd also like to start an intiative project but I feel like I don't have the resources to do so. Is there anyway I could take what I'm already doing right now and turn it into something big? I'm open to any suggestions.

What about using public transportation (busses and in very large cities subways)? All ECs involve being somewhere, whether it be school or somewhere else. Your best bet will be to find things at school, within walking distance or easy to get to by bus. We can’t help much more since this is very city specific…
